Thomas R. Crone

Thomas R. Crone is a managing partner and shareholder in the firm. He has extensive experience representing public and private sector clients in a variety of labor and employment matters and has successfully represented a broad range of employers in over 400 discrimination claims filed at the local, state and federal level. Mr. Crone’s experience includes:
 

  • Investigating and defending employment discrimination claims, including race, gender, disability, and sexual harassment claims.
  • Advising employers on day-to-day employment issues, including preventive employment advice, compliance with local, state and federal employment laws, and wage and hour claims and compliance.
  • Representing employers in union-related matters, including collective bargaining and contract administration, union campaigns, picketing and strike activity, unfair labor practice charges, prohibited practice proceedings, and grievance arbitrations.
  • Drafting and enforcing employment contracts and covenants not to compete.
  • Defending unemployment compensation claims.
 

Mr. Crone is recognized in Chambers USA -- America's Leading Lawyers for Business for his work in the employment law area, and has received Martindale-Hubbell law directory's highest rating of “AV” for professional competency and ethical conduct.  Mr. Crone was also named a 2006 Wisconsin Super Lawyer, a peer-nominated award given to only 5% of Wisconsin attorneys.

Mr. Crone received his B.B.A. (1973), with honors, and J.D. (1976) from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association and the Dane County Bar Association.
