Construction:

Over the years, we have established an extensive and well-respected construction law practice. Our experience and expertise have helped to build long-term relationships with many of the most respected and successful architects, contractors, and subcontractors in the state.

Our clients include a wide range of public and private entities, including owners, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. We also represent construction associations such as the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin (ABC), and the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association (WTBA). We routinely advise and assist clients in the following areas:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, including contracts with Native American nations and standard form contracts such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Associated General Contractors (AGC) documents
  • Advising clients on lien and bond claims on public and private construction projects in Wisconsin
  • Representing clients in complex construction disputes, including default terminations, design defects, differing site conditions, changes, delays, suspensions of work, bid mistakes and protests, construction accidents, and insurance and surety claims on construction projects in both the private and public sector
  • Negotiating with lenders on large commercial construction loans
  • Advising clients on claim avoidance and risk management issues
  • Assisting clients with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise application process
