Over the years, we have established an
extensive and well-respected construction law practice.
Our experience and expertise have helped
to build long-term relationships
with many of the most respected and successful architects, contractors, and
subcontractors in the state.
Our clients include a wide range of public and
private entities, including owners, architects,
general contractors, subcontractors, and
suppliers. We also represent construction
associations such as the Associated Builders
and Contractors of Wisconsin (ABC), and
the Wisconsin Transportation Builders
Association (WTBA). We routinely advise
and assist clients in the following areas:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating
construction contracts, including contracts
with Native American nations and standard
form contracts such as the American
Institute of Architects (AIA) and Associated
General Contractors (AGC) documents
- Advising clients on lien and bond
claims on public and private construction
projects in Wisconsin
- Representing clients in complex construction
disputes, including default terminations,
design defects, differing site conditions,
changes, delays, suspensions of work,
bid mistakes and protests, construction
accidents, and insurance and surety
claims on construction projects in both
the private and public sector
- Negotiating with lenders on large
commercial construction loans
- Advising clients on claim avoidance
and risk management issues
- Assisting clients with the Disadvantaged
Business Enterprise application process
